Located inside the castle of s. Jorge in Lisbon, this House is ideal for those who want to know the culture and the Portuguese heritage, as well as explore the old town with stunning views every morning.
The castle is a joy to behold. And with the traditional local pastry cream puffs 10 feet away from the door, it is hard to think of a better way to find out what our culture is everything.
S. Jorge Castle, a national monument occupies a privileged area of the ancient Citadel and consists of the Castle, ruins of the former Royal Palace and part of the neighborhood for the elite.
The fortification, built by the Moors (Arabs) in 11 century, was the last defensive fortress for the elite who resided in the Citadel: the Moorish Governor whose Palace was nearby, and the city's elite administrators whose houses are visible today in the archaeological site.
Today is no longer a fortress, is just one of the few places that you get to see all the hills of Lisbon, and travel through time back to a distant past, full of history and tradition. Even if the House is within the walls of the Castle, the access is very easy, and there are many shops of the supermarket and cafes around for your convenience and comfort.
Tram 12 and the 737 bus will take you to the Praça da Figueira (near Rossio Square, in the center of the city), while the famous 28 tram is nearby and makes the ideal ride in old Lisbon, as well as a convenient way to travel to the city centre.
The apartment has been recently renovated and has everything you may need. Wi-Fi, cable TV, two separate double beds (one in the living room as a sofa bed), and a separate room upstairs.
